Certainly Facebook, Twitter and/or LinkedIn are the places to be these days for most professionals. But just how do professionals take the contacts they develop in that online world and work them into their offline work world?
That’s the question two speakers are to address tomorrow evening at a program on “Transforming Online Connections into Offline Relationships.”
It’s put on by the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island, which gears most of its programs to marketing, communications, public relations professionals. But for social media events, such as this one, they throw the doors open to others – think business owners, nonprofits -- says Patricia Gambale, the organization’s program chair, also marketing manager for Marcum LLP in Melville.
Speakers for the event are Steve Haweeli, above left, president, Word Hampton Public Relations and Louise DiCarlo, virtual assistant, social media manager, owner of Communications Journey, Inc.
In a poll of members’ interests, social media came out at the top of the list, says Gambale. Hence two more related events in November and March.
