A subsidiary of Uniondale-based Open Link Financial Inc. — known as OpenLink — has won a contract to supply software to a top Russian energy supplier.
The subsidiary, IRM, is based in Vienna, Austria. A key aspect of its software is that it allows the client to conduct its energy-market trading operations in the Russian language.
IRM said the client INTER RAO UES, of Moscow, will use the software "in its current power business and strengthen their overall position in Russia and abroad.
"INTER RAO UES will benefit from IRM's acclaimed product support center for Russian-speaking clientele, and acquire qualitative improvement to the planning and forecasting aspect of their trading activity," the Moscow company said in a news release.
Headquartered in Uniondale, OpenLink has 900 employees with offices in Houston, London, Berlin, Vienna, São Paulo, Sydney, Singapore and Toronto.
The companies did not disclose the dollar value of the software contract.
