Southwest Airlines, the major carrier at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, will add service to South Carolina starting next year.

The low-cost airline will add the Charleston and Greenville-Spartanburg airports, Southwest said on Tuesday. No word yet on the start dates, schedules or fares.

“We look forward to serving the Palmetto State with Southwest Airlines' unique brand of genuine hospitality, great value [and] a robust and reliable flight network,” Dave Ridley, a marketing executive at Dallas-based Southwest, said in a prepared statement.
