Whether you're inspired by making cake pops, growing a vegetable garden or finishing furniture, you can find a video class for it on Craftsy. Among the 43 beginner and intermediate classes available on the free curriculum are the aforementioned plus creative sewing, wirework jewelry, portrait drawing, cabinetry techniques, stamping and creating birthday cards. Although the free classes are called "mini," they include a lot of detailed information. The one we watched ran about an hour and left us feeling confident that we could complete a project afterward. Once you "enroll" in a class, it is added to your "My Craftsy" and can be viewed as many times as you desire. You can add photos of your completed projects, take notes while watching a video and even bookmark it. You can also order supplies and kits at the site. Plus, there are hundreds of fee-based classes to try (Cake & Cooking classes number 180 alone).
"Long" classes are not inexpensive. They range from $14.99 to $49.99. It's hard to evaluate their worth without having viewed them. Classes can be rated by users and this could be helpful, though we were hard put to find any negative comments.
The "mini" classes can be a great way to learn a craft for free.
