Listen up. Whether you want to hear music, news, sports or talk, TuneIn is the place to tune in. This streaming website, which can also be downloaded as a free app for your Apple, Android or Kindle device, gives you access to 70,000 live radio stations and 2 million podcasts, concerts and shows.

The design of the site is sharp and clean, and finding what you want is easy and intuitive. The home page displays trending and popular radio stations and shows. If nothing there appeals to you, just click a tab at the top of the page -- local, music, sports, news, talk or by location -- and start exploring.

If you choose music, you'll have a selection of more than 40 genres, including the expected (Top40/pop) and the unexpected (Christmas). Sports lovers will find general interest stations as well as 20 sports-specific ones, from baseball to horse racing. Once you choose a station, its daily lineup is displayed. Sign up with TuneIn (free) to be able to select and save your favorite stations.

TuneIn is not advertising-free. Aside from any ads the streaming stations have, you will hear short spots when buffering between stations, but this is a small price to pay. And speaking of paying, for $4.99 you can choose the TuneIn Pro app, whose DVR-like abilities let you pause, rewind and even record radio content for later playback.
