Mini Mario's are back in Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem. Once again, Mario uses his wind up Mini Marios to chase down Donkey Kong and rescue the damsel in distress.
In this title, Mario and Pauline (the original Princess Peach from Mario's first appearance in 198 “Donkey Kong”) are celebrating the grand opening of Mario's new amusement park, Mini-Land, by giving away Pauline dolls. When Donkey Kong shows up just as Mario runs out, he does what any giant ape would do when angry: capture the girl and run. Mario has to guide the Mini Marios through over 200 action-puzzle levels in order to face of against Donkey Kong and rescue Pauline.
Touch the toy plumbers to start while using the stylus to guide the Mini Marios. The challenge lays in placing girders, conveyor belts, springs and warp pipes at the right place at the right time. For an added challenge, try collecting all the coins and items in each level. But be careful, once the Mini Marios start moving they won't stop until they reach the goal or run out of time.
Each world also has a challenging boss battle against Donkey Kong, where the Mini Marios have to reach the top while dodging falling objects.
A classic live-action puzzle title, this game has plenty going on for replay value. Each world adds new elements to the game play, from moving platforms to trampolines that affect the Mini Marios' movement. It also features a puzzle building feature that you can share with others online.
If you're a traditional gamer and don't care for using the stylus, you might want to skip this one. Since it's not a pure puzzle game, but not a pure action game, it's a great cross-over for fans of both.
