WHAT’S GOOD When was the last time you played a game that was scored like a Broadway musical? If the answer is never, then welcome to the world of musical theater nerd and aspiring director Peter Panic. On a visit to his hometown, Peter notices an abandoned theater, and quicker than you can say, “Let’s put on a show in the barn,” he belts out the tune “A Theater Needs Saving” and then gets to work at recruiting the locals to join him in his rescue mission. He starts with the golden-voiced boss of the packing factory, who puts players to work on a series of chores that must be completed in 10 seconds, from catching falling plastic foam peanuts in boxes to sorting papers into proper piles. These jobs may seem easy, but can be challenging, especially when the speed gets amped up. Make three mistakes, and the game is over. Complete the job and you’ll earn 15 points and get the boss onboard as you advance to the next level. Some high-caliber Broadway belters lend their voices to the game, including Gideon Glick (“Spring Awakening”) and Emily Skeggs (“Fun Home”). (An accompanying soundtrack is available on iTunes for $7.99.)

WHAT’S NOT Saving your game progress will cost you, to the tune of $3.

BOTTOM LINE Show tunes and snappy gameplay? These are a few of our favorite things.
