Two Long Island agencies that serve people with special needs are teaming up for an employment open house on July 28 to fill dozens of job openings, the groups said.

Old Bethpage-based Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, known by its acronym FREE, is hoping to fill 50 to 75 openings. The Federation of Organizations, which is headquartered in West Babylon, is hoping to fill about two dozen jobs.

The free employment open house will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at FREE’s headquarters at 191 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Rd.

Many of the jobs are for “front-line” staff who work directly with people with disabilities. The jobs include community-support specialists, who provide services to people with disabilities living on their own, and direct-support professionals, who work with people with intellectual and mental-health disabilities living in group homes.

For more information call FREE at 516-870-1670 or send an email to Email the Federation at or call 631-669-5355.
