'Ultra-marathon Man' to promote Hain's Greek yogurt

The Hain Celestial Group, of Melville, has a new spokesman -- a Greek-American fitness buff known as "Ultra-marathon Man" -- for one of its subsidaries specializing in Greek-style yogurt.

The spokesman, Dean Karnazes, will promote The Greek Gods product line at trade shows, running events and in media interviews, Hain said.

"He's Greek-American, quite possibly the fittest man in the world, and loves eating The Greek Gods yogurt," Hain said in a Monday news release.

"'Ultra-marathon Man' Dean Karnazes has partnered with The Greek Gods yogurt as its spokesman to promote the brand's wellness benefits and outstanding taste," Basel Nassar, general manager of Hain's Greek Gods division, said.

Karnazes, 48, in May completed a 75-day run across the United States, from California to New York City. He ran an average of 40 to 50 miles each day, in motion for eight to 15 hours.

"I'm honored to be part of The Greek Gods family," Dean Karnazes said in Hain's news release. "I have been a fan of the taste, texture and nutritional benefits of the yogurt since I first got my hands on the product years ago."
