Vera Bradley is expanding its presence on Long Island next month with a new store in Walt Whitman Shops.
The 1,900-square-foot store will open in mid-to-late April in the Huntington Station mall. Each of Vera Bradley’s stores is designed differently with its own layout. The new location will have its own look and feel, said Vera Bradley spokeswoman Kate Virag.
“Long Island and the metro area in general is strong for us, and we have a lot of fans in the area,” Virag said. “We have been growing significantly in that area, and the center is going through a pretty significant remodel. So for us it is a perfect time to jump in.”
Vera Bradley’s handbags and accessories have long been popular on Long Island, selling in many independent gift shops and, more recently, in the brand’s stores in Garden City’s Roosevelt Field mall and Lake Grove’s Smith Haven Mall and on its website.
Adding another retail location gives a boost to all those retail channels, Virag said.
“The additional exposure to the brand benefits all retail channels,” she said. “Our goal is to be where our fans are shopping and give them a memorable shopping experience.”
