New York supermarket chain Wegmans said it was recalling spinach because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Rochester-based chain said it was recalling the 12-ounce frozen bags of its organic spinach.

Twin City Foods Inc., a Wegmans supplier, notified Wegmans of this recall.

The recalled bags have “best used by” dates of January 26, 2017, or February 2, 2017, the company said in its statement.

Wegmans made the announcement on Sunday.

The company added that customers could call its Wegmans Consumer Affairs unit at 1-855-934-3663 for more information.
