What some Long Islanders did with Google's guitar logo

Google changed its logo this week for a few days in honor of guitar legend Les Paul, who would have turned 96 on Thursday. The search engine offered up an interactive guitarlike application that could be used to play and record a tune.

We invited Newsday readers to send us their recordings. Here are some:

Richard J. Murdocco served up some Beethoven, plucking out the Ode to Joy, while Linda from West Babylon sent us a rendition of "Lean on Me."

Some kept is simple. David Weiner figured out "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

And some readers composed their own music.

-- Diana Schimkus worked out a “hazy sunny day tune.”
-- Jeff Korn of Patchogue turned in “A nice little ditty.”
-- Kathleen (kat1121) sent us this.
--and Jonathan Hark struck a chord or two.

Thanks to everyone for playing along.
