Charges dropped against Bronx suspect arrested in stabbing of Bangladeshi man

Members of the Bangladeshi and Muslim community say they want justice for Nur Navi, who was stabbed after leaving a mosque on Aug. 11.

THE BRONX - Charges have been dropped against a man arrested for the stabbing of a Bangladeshi man who was on his way home from a mosque over the summer.

Members of the Bangladeshi and Muslim community say they want justice for Nur Navi, who was stabbed after leaving a mosque on Aug. 11.

The district attorney’s office says that after comparing the description of the attacker and surveillance footage of the incident, they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the suspect arrested committed the crime.

Navi survived the stabbing attack but says he is now living in fear.

“My life is a good life but…I want justice,” Navi told News 12. “They still didn't find this person. Why? Who did this?”
