Ferrari showcased it's latest supercar at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show today. Dubbed the F-12 Berlinetta, it is the fastest and most powerful production road car ever built by Ferrari.

Ferrari president Luca Cordero di Montezemolo says the engine is far more powerful, yet lighter than previous V12 models owing to state-of-the-art new metal alloys and "completely new architecture."

The F-12 Berlinetta is equipped with a new V-12, 6.3 liter engine, that peaks at 729 horsepower and 508 pound-feet of torque. All this power is matted to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, similar to the one used in Formula 1 race cars.

The F12 Berlinetta also features a lightweight body constructed of 12 different alloys, some of which have never been used before on a car and carbon fiber, making it super light yet rigid.

These numbers translate into getting the car up to 124 mph in just 8.5 seconds. It does 0 to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds and it has a top speed of 211 mph.

Ferrari says that the F-12 Berlinetta completed the Fiorano circuit lap time in just 1:23. That’s a second faster than the Ferrari 599 GTO and nearly two seconds faster than the 458 Italia and Enzo.

The supercar is set to hit dealers in late 2012. No word yet on price, but chances are if you need to ask, you can't afford it.
