Sitting quietly among Chrysler's oversized and aggressively styled sedans, trucks, and muscle cars, lays the Fiat 500 Abarth, the sporty version of Fiat's diminutive 500.
The Chrysler-Fiat partnership is hopping that the Abarth will strike a chord with the younger market -- those who seek performance in a small and affordable package.
While the Abarth is quirky looking, especially when it's within eye-shot of Chrysler's SRT branded high performance vehicles, the car has enough under its hood to take on its larger bretheren.
Carrying the Scorpion logo, Abarth has a 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing an estimated 135 horsepower 152 pounds of torque. It has a top speed of a 127 mph and has a 0 to 60 in 7.9 seconds. While these aren't impressive numbers, the Abarth weighs only 2,200 pounds.
EPA estimates its fuel economy at 31 mpg combined.
The Abarth is available now and starts at $22,000.
