With gas prices still hovering near $4 a gallon, many are wondering whether it’s cheaper to drive or fly to a vacation destination.

BeFrugal.com has a travel cost calculator that could help you figure out which is more economical. The calculator asks for details about your potential trip – including the starting location and destination, number of people traveling, the model and year of your car, and the cost of a hotel stay on the way (if needed).

Based on your answers, the calculator estimates the cost of driving (and returning from) your destination versus just booking a round-trip flight and the total time it will take for each. As a bonus, you’ll also see the CO2 impact for each.

The calculator also takes into account transportation to and from the airport, parking at the airport, any extra baggage fees, and even wear and tear on your car.
