Lamborghini unveiled its much anticipated SUV concept this week at the Beijing Auto Show. Dubbed Urus, the vehicle seats four and is likely to hit the market in the next few years.

Details have been scarce, but we do know that a 600-horspower engine lies beneath the hood; it has permanent all-wheel drive; it has 24-inch wheels; the body is made up extensively of carbon fiber; and Filippo Perini, the designer behind the Aventador, has been working on the Urus the past couple years.

The Urus will also have an adjustable ride height that adapts the SUV for on-road stability and aerodynamics. Powered rear hatch and front chin spoilers also raise and lower automatically to optimize airflow.

If the Urus goes into production, Lamborghini will probably be looking to compete in the high-end luxury SUV market that includes the BMW X5, the Land Rover Range Rover and the Porsche Cayenne.

The Urus isn’t Lamborghini’s first SUV. The Italian carmaker built the LM002 between 1986 and 1993.
