Brian Leger has joined H2M as senior designer at the consulting and design firm in Melville. The Farmingdale resident was a design engineer at High Point Engineering in Farmingdale.

BANKING

BankUnited has announced two new hires.

Ron Austin joins as vice president and regional manager overseeing residential lending in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and will be based in Melville. The Woodmere resident was responsible for residential lending for the New York metropolitan area at Real Estate Mortgage Network in Manhattan.

Michael Quigley joins as senior vice president and director of business banking for the Manhattan and Long Island markets and will be based in Melville. The Smithtown resident was vice president and team leader for M&T Bank in Melville.

Leslie A. Berkoff has been appointed co-chair of the advisory council of the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, a nonprofit that works to foster the connection, promotion and success of women in the insolvency and restructuring professions. The Commack resident is a partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff in Garden City.
