HEALTH CARE

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip has announced two new hires.

Dr. Christopher LaMendola has been appointed chairman of the department of cardiothoracic surgery and director of the St. Francis Hospital open heart surgery program at Good Samaritan hospital, and will begin seeing patients at Cardiothoracic Surgery Associates, also in West Islip. The Lloyd Harbor resident previously served as a cardiothoracic surgeon at St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center, in Roslyn.

Dr. Maksim Rovensky joins as attending cardiothoracic surgeon in the St. Francis Hospital open heart surgery program at Good Samaritan hospital. The Massapequa resident previously served as a cardiothoracic surgeon at St. Francis Hospital, The Heart Center, in Roslyn.
