Paul F. Oliveri has joined Sullivan Papain Block McGrath & Cannavo as of counsel. The personal injury law and medical malpractice law firm has offices in Garden City, Cutchogue, Manhattan and Hackensack, N.J. The Lynbrook resident is the founding member of the law firm Oliveri & Schwartz. He is a director emeritus of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, a member of the American Association for Justice, the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers' Association and the Nassau Lawyers Association of Long Island. HEALTH

Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola has added two board-certified physicians to its department of orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Jan E. Koenig has been named chief of joint-replacement surgery and director of computer-assisted and robotic orthopedic surgery. The Dix Hills resident specializes in robotically assisted total knee replacement. He was director of orthopedic surgery and chief of arthritis and joint-replacement surgery at Mercy Medical Center. Koenig is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. P. Leo Varriale specializes in arthroscopic surgery. The Old Brookville resident is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has held clinical appointments at Mercy Medical Center, including chief of sports medicine and director of orthopedic surgery.

The two are founding members of Orthopaedic Excellence of Long Island in Garden City and Rockville Centre.

Patricia Foster has joined the Coram office. The Coram resident was a sales agent at Exit Realty in Cartersville, Ga.

Toni Ann Geiser has joined the Setauket office. The Farmingville resident was an agent at Long Island House Hunters in Farmingville.

BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS

The Suffolk County Bar Association has appointed attorneys to chair two of its committees.

Elliott Portman has been reappointed for a fourth term as chair of the Creditors' Rights Law Committee. The Huntington resident is a partner with Roe Taroff Taitz & Portman in Bohemia, where he concentrates in federal and state litigation, particularly in the area of creditors' rights and commercial litigation.

Christine R. Shiebler has been appointed to a two-year term as co-chair of the Surrogate's Court Committee. The Blue Point resident is counsel at Roe Taroff Taitz & Portman, where she concentrates on wills, trusts and estates and elder law and real estate.
