The public will get the opportunity to visit almost a dozen Lloyd Neck homes for sale Thursday, June 18, during an open house event being sponsored by a Long Island real estate firm.

A spokeswoman for Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty says that the Twilight Open House Tour -- being held from 4 to 8 p.m. -- will become a monthly event.

The homes are reachable via a scenic causeway -- a stretch of Lloyd Harbor Road that connects the peninsula of Lloyd Neck to the rest of the village of Lloyd Harbor.

"The second they start on the causeway, they are going to know they are someplace new -- the causeway is an incredible ride," says Peggy Moriarty, an associate real estate broker at Daniel Gale Sotheby's.

The tours will offer refreshments, courtesy of popular local restaurants, bakeries and specialty shops, at each home. The event's theme this first month is Sweet Treats.
