CNN anchor Anderson Cooper has sold his waterfront cottage on Aspatuck Creek in Quiogue for $2.975 million, according to the Enzo Morabito Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, which listed the property.
The house came on the market in October for $3.199 million and has seen several price reductions.
It was built in 1928 as a sports club on the St. George family estate, says Morabito. During that time, an island was created by dredging the creek, which is believed to have been used for hunting, says Morabito. The island is part of the 2.3-acre property.
The house is about 3,800 square feet and has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a half bath. Cooper had the home completely renovated. He told Morabito that he found a manuscript belonging to the St. George family and is passing it along to the new owner.
Cooper's mother, design icon Gloria Vanderbilt, helped him style the house he owns next door, which is currently under contract for $2.599 million.
