Think finding a summer retreat on Long Island at a reasonable price is impossible? Check out this Baiting Hollow cottage that just came on the market for $34,900 — furniture included!
The 1960 cottage is in Woodcliff Park, a private beachfront community that’s open from April 15 to Oct. 15. The community “is a great place, very family-friendly,” says homeowner and listing agent Maureen Horan of Century 21 Dallow Realty in Farmingdale.
Horan, who spent her childhood summering at her parents’ home in the same community, purchased the cottage with her husband about 12 years ago. They have entirely renovated the house within the past decade. It has two bedrooms, a full bath, kitchen and living room. Taxes are $1,035 and land fees are about $4,800 a year, Horan says.
“You own the home,” she explains, “but the land is leased.”
