Two properties in Remsenburg, listed together for $2.199 million, come with not only a five-bedroom home, but also a two-bedroom treehouse.

Designed by local builder Paul Podlas, the treehouse was built on stilts on a 1.95-acre parcel by the current owner’s father-in-law.

“He loved those trees, and he wanted one of those places like in California that are up on stilts,” says listing agent Deirdre DeVita, of Brown Harris Stevens.

The treehouse has a long wooden deck with small trees planted on it, as well as beamed ceilings and a cast-iron stove. It was the original country getaway, built in the early 1960s, DeVita says.

The main house, which sits on a 1.24-acre parcel south of the treehouse, was built in 1997 and has three bathrooms and a half-bath, an open kitchen and a living room with a brick fireplace.
