Billionaire businessman Henry Silverman recently purchased a Sagaponack estate with a one-hole golf course for $14 million, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report.

The 12,200-square-foot Hamptons-style house, built in 2008, includes eight bedrooms and 8.5 baths and has a geothermal heating and cooling system. The 2.38-acre property features a heated infinity-edge pool, a Har-Tru tennis court and a shingled pool house with a living room, two bedrooms and two baths.

The property is next to a 33-acre preserve overlooking the ocean and farmland.

Susan Breitenbach of The Corcoran Group brought Silverman to the deal. Breitenbach, who was Corcoran's top East End broker in 2009, declined to comment.

"I think it was a wonderful home," says Laura White of Saunders Associates, who was the co-exclusive listing agent with Beate Moore of Sotheby's International Realty. "The price and the property went hand in hand."

Silverman, 68, is chief operating officer of Apollo Management, whose holdings include Sotheby's International Realty, Coldwell Banker and Century 21 Real Estate.

Real estate sources say that Silverman rented designer Joanne Corzine's Sagaponack house last summer for a record-breaking $900,000 and that Corcoran's Breitenbach also brought Silverman to that deal.
