Bridgehampton’s mammoth Sandcastle estate is back on the rental market, this time with a higher asking price and yet another amenity.
Owner Joe Farrell, the Hamptons builder who constructed the 31,000-square-foot home for himself and his family, wants $550,000 for a two-week stay next year. “That’s what I got last year, and I turned down seven people,” Farrell says. “It’s in huge demand.”
Also on the market for $43.5 million with Gary DePersia of The Corcoran Group and Chris Burnside of Brown Harris Stevens, the 11.5-acre property first broke Hamptons rental records in 2010 when a family paid $500,000 to live there for 14 days.
There’s a bowling alley, a skateboarding half-pipe, a rock-climbing wall, virtual golf, a media room, a bar and disco, a children’s performing area and a combination squash, racquetball and basketball court with moving walls and a retractable hoop. And that’s just a few of the features.
The newest one? A baseball field, where Farrell hosts weekly softball games in the summer.
