The buyer of this estate in Greenport will help a girl get an education, too.
The sellers are asking for offers above $2,561,247 for the property. “A portion of proceeds from the sale of the house will go to the Girls Reach Academic Success Program,” says Kimberly Crail, the program’s event coordinator.
Girls Reach — a program run by the nonprofit Community Action of Southold Town Inc. — helps low-income students who show academic promise to get a college education.
“Currently, 30 girls from three North Fork school districts participate in the program,” she says.
The house is on nearly eight wooded acres with a 2,400-square-foot guesthouse and a 1,000-square-foot art studio. It has docking rights on a protected deepwater harbor.
There will also be a silent auction of items donated by local businesses at the house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 1 and 2. All proceeds from the auction will go to the program. For more information and to register, call 914-670-7055.
