A kitchen and pantry with original wainscoted wood ceilings are among the throwback touches found in this circa-1900 Greenport home listed for $835,000.
Additional original features in the three-bedroom, 2 1⁄2 -bath home set on a 0.23-acre lot include wide-plank pine wood floors and a front staircase, says listing agent JoAnn Wind of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Real Estate.
“The house still has the 1900 look,” she says.
That vintage feel coexists with modern updates in the 1,700-square-foot home. The first floor has an open floor plan, and the kitchen was updated with a butcher-block top and modern appliances.
Wood floors throughout the home have been refinished, and the lime-green front shutters are functional and can be closed during storms, Wind says. The home also has a new roof and new exterior shingles.
The main staircase and a back staircase near the kitchen lead to the second floor, where two full bathrooms were recently updated and include mosaic tile walls. A walk-up attic is currently being used as a playroom and could become an artist’s studio, Wind says.
A fenced-in backyard includes a shed and a new gravel driveway. There is also a new Brazilian Ipe wood deck with a pergola.
