CitiMortgage is holding a seven-hour event today in Hauppauge to look at options for homeowners having trouble paying their mortgages.
The one-on-one counseling is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Long Island Hotel, 110 Motor Pkwy.
Borrowers should bring documents to support their hardship, such as medical records, divorce decrees and unemployment. They should also bring as many financial records as possible, such as pay stubs for the last 60 days, bank account and investment statements, proof of insurance and property tax payments, a full 2010 tax return and first and second mortgage statements.
The Community Development Corp. of Long Island, a nonprofit housing counselor, will also be there for advice, including for homeowners who have mortgages with other lenders.
Those who cannot attend may call 866-915-9417 or go to citiroadtorecovery.com.
