This East Hampton home was designed by famed East End architect Francis Fleetwood early in his career. It is on the market for $2.695 million.
Fleetwood, who died in May 2015 at the age of 68 and boasted celebrity clients including Alex Baldwin and Paul McCartney, began designing the four-bedroom home for J. Paul Amaden and his wife, Chris, in 1985.
Chris Amaden says she gave Fleetwood a wish list that included creating both formal and everyday front doors, placing the staircase off to the side instead of in the center hall and putting the master bedroom downstairs. Fleetwood designed the traditional shingle-style home, which became his trademark, around the requests.
“He did a great job of including those and he used them in several other houses he designed along the way,” Chris Amaden says.
The home is listed with Tyler Mattson and Brian Buckhout of Compass.
