An 1870 farmhouse in East Moriches listed for $425,000 is ready to be fixed up to look grand again, says listing agent Natalie Lewis of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom house, once on a farm, was damaged in a fire that started in a fireplace.

“The roof caught on fire, and the water from the fire to put out the fire caused a lot of Sheetrock damage,” Lewis says.

After the fire, the owners put a new roof on the house, which also has a new kitchen.

While the structure has many new parts, it retains its old farmhouse look, with details such as original millwork and wooden floors.

There’s also a two-story cottage behind the house that has two bedrooms.
