Eye on Property Taxes: Nassau's 'assessment apocalypse'

Nassau County's new tax assessor says "taxpayers are saddled with a $250-million annual burden because of the current system. It is an assessment apocalypse." Meanwhile, residents recently discovered wrong sales prices on the county assessor's Web site, apparently caused by a computer glitch that county officials say has now been corrected.
