In 1897, noted architect George B. Post, who designed such buildings as the New York Stock Exchange and the Wisconsin State Capitol, built a Bayport home for his nephew, Regis H. Post, a New York politician who eventually served as governor of Puerto Rico from 1907 to 1909. Known as Littlewood, the home is on the market for $875,000.

The home has nine bedrooms, three bathrooms and two half-bathrooms, as well as many original features, including a grand, three-story staircase, six fireplaces, a butler's pantry and a dumbwaiter. There are original hardwood floors and moldings throughout.

Regis Post designed and built his 63-foot schooner Shawondasee in the backyard of the 2.66-acre property, says listing agent Lisa Hendrickson of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
