'GreenFest' to be held May 21 in Long Beach

With most homes these days becoming retrofitted to be “greener” -- that is, with heavy duty insulation, solar panels, recycling bins and even energy saving bulbs -- an organization named The Green Project of Long Island has created a new concept: educating homeowners on Long Island how to “Go Green” with the ultimate goal of increasing the value of their homes while helping the environment.

“As a certified eco-broker, I am able to teach greening principles and help others go green,” says Joe Sinnona, founder of the organization and associate broker at Verdeschi Realty in Long Beach.

For some great energy saving ideas, green products displays and cooking demonstrations, check out “GreenFest 2011” May 21 at the Kennedy Plaza in Long Beach.
