A bit of historic Roslyn -- once known as the circa 1870 Eastman Hicks-Marino stable -- is on the market.

Today it is a renovated, updated cottage. The living room has a cathedral ceiling, wood-burning fireplace and wide wood-plank floors that continue through the formal dining room and the farm-style kitchen.

A leftover from its former life as a stable is the hayloft opening atop the living room wall. Now, the loft holds one of the home’s two bedrooms. There is one bathroom.

The house is priced at $479,000 with listing agent Michelle Cohen of Laffey Fine Homes.

Cohen says the yard is tiered and features a lawn and brick patio. A new stone wall running from front to back makes the 134-by-59-foot property “very private.”
