Hollywood director and screenwriter Robert Benton has listed his 2.5-acre home in Wainscott for just under $30 million.
The four-bedroom, 4-1/2-bath Mediterranean-style home is located on a peninsula with 724 feet of beach frontage in the Georgica Association subdivision.
The house, priced at $29.9 million, was originally built in the late 1800s and features a great room with 16th century English beams designed by Charles Gwathmey. The dwelling was totally renovated five years ago by architect Richard Gluckman.
Peter Turino of Brown Harris Stevens is the listing agent.
Benton is a three-time Oscar winner. In 1979, he won two Oscars, one for writing and one for directing the movie “Kramer Vs. Kramer.” He won his third Oscar in 1984 as writer for the movie “Places in the Heart.”
