This Huntington Bay residence was once the gatehouse for Ferguson's Castle, a storied home that was demolished in 1970.
The unusual five-bedroom, four-bath 1902 house is on the market for $2.595 million.
The homeowners embellished the Mediterranean-style home with whatever architectural remnants there were of the castle, including old woodwork, doors and paneling. They also constructed an addition. With western sunsets visible from the terraces, "you kind of feel like you're in Tuscany," says listing agent Peggy Moriarity of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty.
The 1.17-acre property can be sold with an additional .23-acre piece of waterfront land with rights for a floating dock.
