A new waterfront community is expected to be completed by midsummer in Hampton Bays.

Twenty-three town houses starting at $700,000 each are being built where the old Allen's Acres Resort Motel was at 68 Foster Ave., says Bernard Zyscovich, founder and chief executive of Zyscovich Architects.

"We've completely re-imagined the idea of the town home," Zyscovich says of Ponquogue Point, the name of his new development.

The development will comprise five large buildings scattered throughout the three-acre property with the 23 townhouses. The units will range from one to three bedrooms, and most will be priced below $1 million, with a monthly maintenance fee of $250 to $700. The largest of the homes will be 2,000 square feet.

The houses will share a central pool, boat launch facility and on-site marina.

Zyscovich says that he hired Austin Handler and Jennifer Mabley of Mabley Handler Interior Design based in Water Mill to outfit the model units and walk all home buyers through the pre-sales design selection process so they can help choose kitchens, bathrooms, floor finishes, paint, moldings and built-ins.
