This new home near the ocean in Amagansett was designed by Bates Masi Architects and takes inspiration from the nearby Amagansett Life-Saving Station, where lifeguards used to monitor Atlantic Beach. It is on the market for $9.45 million.

“What’s wonderful about Bates Masi is they pay attention to the landscape,” says Matthew Breitenbach of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who is co-listing the property with Kevin Geddie. “It doesn’t look obtrusive and matches the environment.”

The three-bedroom home is down the street from the ocean, with views of the water and surrounding dunes from the upper-level living and dining space. It has a natural look, built of bronze and steel, and is covered with thick cedar panels. Bates Masi also designed the interior, which has wood walls and ceilings.

The .3-acre property comes with a two-bedroom guest cottage and a pool.
