November 23, 2010--Shown is the "Amityville Horror" house at 108 Ocean Avenue (formerly 112 Ocean Ave) in Amityville Tuesday November 23, 2010. The pristine picturesque house looks much different from the home where Ronald DeFeo Jr. murdered 6 family members in 1974 and when George and Kathleen Lutz spawned the best-selling Jay Anson book "The Amityville Horror". The home was sold over the summer of 2010 for more than #$1 million and is currently being renovated by Artistic Contracting (516) 446-9156. (photo by Kevin P. It seems that the new owners of 108 Ocean Ave. in Amityville -- the home featured in the "Amityville Horror" book and movies -- are doing some work on the house. This week, a contractor's sign appeared on the front lawn and a Dumpster was spotted in the back of the property behind a gate. A person who answered the phone at the contracting company would not say what the project is, but Caroline D'Antonio, who purchased the home with husband, David, said back in September: "We're leaving everything just as it is" -- except for the kitchen, which she said would be gutted.
