A Water Mill home south of Montauk Highway designed by the late architect Norman Jaffe is on the market for the first time. Built in 1981, it is listed for $3.995 million.

The current owners commissioned Jaffe to design the house, says Shaunagh Byrne of The Corcoran Group, who is co-listing the property with Jeannie Curran. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house has cedar ceilings and a sunken living room with a wood-burning fireplace surrounded by stone floors. The second floor has a loft area currently used as an office.

“It’s a time capsule,” Byrne says. “It’s very pretty, but it’s very reminiscent of the time it was built.”

The 0.93-acre property has a heated gunite pool and spa, and is bordered on two sides by a reserve.
