This eight-bedroom, 8 ½-bath Quogue home on 2.5 acres along Penniman Creek is on the market for $6.399 million.

Tom and Jane Otis, the owners of Otis Ford, built the home in 1993 and say they were drawn to the parcel for its waterfront location. The home’s water-facing deck with awnings has been a favorite space over the years, Jane says.

“Quogue is different from the other Hamptons because it’s quiet,” she adds. “We have a little sleepy village, a post office, a theater and a library to die for.”

The formal dining and living rooms share a double-sided stone fireplace. The first floor includes a library with built-ins and a fireplace, an enclosed heated porch and an en-suite bedroom. The eat-in kitchen includes two islands, radiant heat floors, a walk-in pantry and a wet bar.

Winding stairs lead to a master-bedroom suite and access to one of two second-floor balconies, says listing agent Jeremy Ryan of The Corcoran Group. An en-suite bath with a window-lined jetted tub has a stand-alone shower.

A three-bedroom, three-bath apartment, connected to the home by a heated hallway, has a separate entrance, a full-size kitchen, dining and living rooms, and a deck. Grounds include perennial gardens, a basketball court and a heated gunite pool with a brick patio.

Additional features include central air conditioning, a 50-foot deep-water dock, a generator and a six-car garage.

The home was designed by architect Jay Sears.
