With a design reminiscent of a yacht, this waterfront home listed for $7.95 million, the only one for sale in Sag Harbor’s Dering Harbor, was originally built in 1888 but has undergone a complete restoration, says owner John King.

The 9,230-square-foot, six-bedroom, 6-½-bath home is on 1.71 acres.

King, the chief executive and founder of J. Kings Food Service Professionals Inc. in Holtsville, bought the property in 2007 and spent several years on the renovations.

“The real estate was incredible, but the house was terrible,” he says. “The house is virtually brand-new.”

With panoramic water views and a deepwater dock, the foyer offers a double staircase with handcrafted banisters. A wide corridor leads to a living room and adjacent-to-waterside bar and half-bath, and an expansive chef’s kitchen, dining area and sitting room, all overlooking the water through wide windows.

The first floor en-suite guest room with fireplace and outdoor deck is to the opposite side of the entry foyer. The second floor has a living room with office and kitchenette, cathedral ceilings, and doors to an outdoor entertainment deck with scenic views of the harbor. The lower level has a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

The home has five fireplaces and a four-car garage.

The property is listed at $7,950,000 with Lisa Perfido and Suzanne Sienkiewicz of Nest Seekers International.
