Two porches that encircle the perimeter of this circa-1890 Northport Victorian listed for $879,000 were restored in 2013 using fir planks salvaged from a barn in Maine, says its listing agent.
Other recent improvements to the four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home include a new kitchen, a family bathroom and an updated laundry room, says listing agent Kristi Munder of Signature Premier Properties.
Original wide plank pine floors have been preserved on the second floor, which has a master-bedroom suite with a walk-in closet. Two additional bedrooms share a bath. The third floor features a “jack-of-all-trades” room that can be a home office, bedroom or family room, Munder says.
Downstairs, a foyer leads to a living room with a fireplace and a formal dining room. The eat-in kitchen includes a six-burner Wolf stove and range hood, a Jenn-Air dishwasher, Bosch double-door refrigerator, a wine refrigerator, custom cabinets and marble countertops and backsplash.
A gray paver stone driveway leads to a detached three-car garage with a finished loft. The 0.23-acre property has in-ground sprinklers and a backyard deck.
Large-scale renovations began with a previous owner in 2004, who undertook an exterior renovation and replaced the roof, windows, siding and first-floor hardwood floors. The master bathroom was also renovated. Mechanicals, including electrical systems and central air conditioning, were updated as well.
