Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys sold her Muttontown estate for $2.995 million, the last asking price for the property, according to real estate records and confirmed by an agent involved in the deal.
The sale closed Friday, and it was "a lovely transaction," although Keys was not present, says Patricia Pascullo of Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes & Estates, who represented the buyer. Alexis Siegel of CORE Long Island was the listing agent.
Last month, Keys was to hold an auction of some of her things, including a piano that she once took on tour. It was canceled a couple of days before the event.
Keys and husband, Swizz Beatz "did leave furniture for the new owner . . . nice things," adds Pascullo.
The 2.2-acre gated property spent 266 days on the market. The 9,000-square-foot house -- with its pool, Jacuzzi, pool house, 2,000-square-foot deck and three-car garage -- was first listed for $3.85 million. The house went into contract in March after two price reductions.
Built in 1981, the house has seven bedrooms and 6½ baths. Annual property taxes are $40,970.
