HISTORIC CARRIAGE HOUSE. An East Hampton carriage house dating back to the 1700s is on the market for $3.595 million. The property, which is said to have once been owned by some of East Hampton’s earliest residents, the Osborne family, has been renovated.
Steps from the village’s downtown shopping area, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home is on a quarter of an acre and is surrounded on two sides by mature specimen trees from the Whitmore Tree Farm.
“From the street, the house looks like the original turn-of-the-century home, but once you walk through the front door, you will be surprised how the 5,000-square-foot home has every modern amenity,” says Jennifer Wilson, of Town & County Real Estate of East Hampton, who is co-listing the property with Bill Stoecker. -- CATHY MAHON
ON THE WATER. The Cove Neck estate once owned by Rep. Frederic Rene Coudert Jr. and then his son, the late attorney and philanthropist Frederic “Fritz” Coudert, is now listed for $4,999,999. The house, which has a 228-foot deepwater dock, came on the market last year for $6.25 million. The 2.8-acre property overlooks Oyster Bay Harbor. There is a five-bedroom guesthouse. The home, which is still owned by family, is listed with Anne E. Kerr, of Piping Rock Associates. -- VALERIE KELLOGG
