HISTORY FOR SALE. If you’re a Hamptons history buff, you know the Maidstone Club in East Hampton has been catering to the recreational needs of New York’s elite for more than 100 years. A house built in 1872 by William King, one of the club’s original incorporators, is on the market for $3.225 million. It was a summer home to the Kings, who nicknamed it “The Fishing Box,” but it’s been modified for year-round use. The five-bedroom, Second Empire-style home has 5 ½ bathrooms. The house retains period details such as diagonal-paned windows and brick terraces, but it’s been updated with central air, a large kitchen and a two-car garage. “It’s been with the current owners for two generations,” says listing agent Judi Desiderio of Town & Country Real Estate. The 3,000-square-foot home sits on a landscaped .93-acre lot in the historic district.

The 4.19-acre estate, listed with Michele Gottlieb of Brigitte Greene Realty, came on the market two years for $2.65 million. The English cottage-style main house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms; there is a second cottage on the property with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Westfall, a sports commentator, played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders. His property is on the former Pratt estate.
