Why it’s for sale Helen, 58, a travel agent, and Bryan, 58, a retired special education teacher, say they’re retiring to Charleston to be closer to family.

The Savages’ 2,216-square-foot home was custom built in 2002. Helen says:

“One of the biggest appeals was the property being on a cul-de-sac.  We made some changes to the floor plan before it was built.  The eat-in kitchen, family room and living room have an open floor plan.  Plus there’s a separate formal dining room.  There are hardwood floors in the common space and the master bedroom.  My favorite feature is the front porch.  After work and on the weekends, my husband and I enjoy having a glass of wine out there.  We extended the original footprint of the porch and made it bigger.  We may spend more time on the front porch than we do the back patio… We raised our son and daughter here during their junior high school and high school days. We like the school system because they have a smaller high school where everyone knows everyone.  Rocky Point has a private beach community that you can join.  They offer a clubhouse and seasonal activities during the year… We’ve had many parties in this house. We have a beautiful lush backyard where we’ve put up tents for graduation and retirement parties. Plus the open floor inside is also conducive for large gatherings.  We’re going to miss this home.  We’ve made lots of memories here.”
