Sean Young film shot at Merrick home for sale

Long Island filmmaker Fred Carpenter’s latest project -- a mobster flick, “Send No Flowers” -- recently shot scenes at a Merrick waterfront home that’s on the market for $2.2 million.

Homeowner Glenn Rudolfsky, a retired oil futures trader, says it was scouted at the suggestion of a friend, an actor in the movie. “The director flipped when he saw the backyard,” says Rudolfsky, noting scenes were filmed by the pool and in the living room. “It was a blast," he said. "We [his wife and children] were all asked to be extras.”

It’s no wonder the director was impressed by Rudolfsky’s property, which is about three-quarters of an acre. It features multilevel decking, a heated, in-ground pool, cabana, an outdoor bar, six-person hot tub and an all-purpose lighted sports court. Of the yard’s design, Rudolfsky, who owns two homes in Hawaii, on the island of Kauai, says, “I wanted it to be my Hawaiian paradise. I wanted to walk in my backyard and not want to leave.”

The exterior was renovated two years ago, after a tornado destroyed the back of the house. The interior -- about 5,000 square feet -- features a living room with a 20-foot ceiling.

There’s an indoor gym, and the workout equipment will stay, but Rudolfsky says he hasn’t decided yet whether to leave the pool table in the billiards room.

There are seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. Other amenities include lifts for boats and individual water crafts, and a three-car garage, including one with a radiant-heat floor. The interior and exterior are wired with 12 sets of speakers that can be controlled by an array of devices, including an iPhone.

Incidentally, the movie, which is being filmed at two other Nassau County homes, stars Sean Young and Tony LoBianco. It is scheduled to be released next year.
