Why it’s for sale Chiofolo, 52, a customer service representative at an auto collision business, says now that her kids are grown, the house is just too big for her.

Sandy Chiofolo’s home is in a treed, parklike area of Smithtown that’s close to Jericho Turnpike and Veterans Memorial Highway. Chiofolo chats about her home:

“That’s what I loved about the home originally: It doesn’t look like your average Colonial with the front door in the middle and the home parallel to the street. . . . We redesigned the inside a few years. We took down walls, renovated the kitchen, replaced every window. The den used to be a screened-in porch. . . . As you walk through the house there are three sets of French doors. . . . My son wanted his bedroom to remind him of his grandfather’s house in Pennsylvania. So there’s a wood-covered barrel ceiling in that room. . . . We’ve had many family holidays here. The kitchen is great. . . . The centerpiece of the property is likely the backyard, where we have an in-ground heated pool with a waterfall and boulders surrounding it. There’s a very natural feel and look. That’s my serenity. You’re up on a hill, off the street. No one can see you. It’s very private. There’s a cabana with plenty of storage and a bathroom. The home is in the beautiful area of Smithtown Pines. . . . There’s a lot of house for this price, and it’s priced to sell. . . . We have wonderful memories here.”
